• We are currently collecting (soup and other food items) for SOUPer Bowl Sunday to support the Orange Food Pantry. In a time when it can feel like we have nothing to give, sometimes a bowl of soup to someone in need is enough. Together, that small bowl becomes food to feed a family and food to feed a community.
• Discussion Group & Confirmation Studies meets the last two Sundays of the month after Church.

It is easy to muffle the sound of the Sacred. It usually whispers, a “still, small voice”, but it sure is persistent.  That persistentness sometimes seems like an a-ha! moment or a shove in the right direction.  But it usually begins, and is, a Sacred (persistent) Whisper. A still, small voice.

Alas, there it is.  

It is a Call toward connection.  For, always, God is calling us toward Oneness, unity and Love. Within. Without. And with all.  

Today, some of us are feeling called to join our minds and hearts and hands together to do what we cannot do alone.  A call to be more together.  To unite ourselves as a family of faith.  Brothers and sisters, Soul Friends, siblings called to love and minister.  To be of light in this world and hands of courage, gentleness, and kindness. Together; for we cannot live this life in isolation.

Holding us in a bigger family of faith, we honor our denominational umbrellas that formally bring us together as a Home of Faith.  A greater light of a community of churches that remind us that we are not alone, but a sister church to other churches seeking to lighten the heavy loads of this world.  Sister churches seeking to brighten this world with good and love and justice and neighborliness and extravagant welcome to all people on all walks of life.  

Together, these seemingly differing faiths, we seemingly different people, unite as a Call toward Love. A call, perhaps, guided in differing ways: Listening to the footsteps of Jesus. Listening to the whisper of the Universal.  Listening to the breath of Sprit…but always calling us together as One people leaning toward the Way of Love and Connection and Grace.

We come together as One Community of Faith and Love.  

This is a gift of connection that we can offer in a world that can feel so ugly, lonely, and isolated.  A reminder that we are not alone and will never be alone.  A reminder that we can be beacons of light and hope and company with and for one another.  That we are called to tend and minister to one another as we walk this world.  A reminder that we always have a Home with and for one another. Always.

We hear the call today to unite under an umbrella of Love.  An umbrella that keeps at bay the darker shadows and holds us under a roof that leads toward universal truths of Grace, Spirit, Love, Hope.
