Death Cafe is open to everyone who is living life and perhaps dealing with grief in all of the ways that grief and loss show up in our lives. You do not have to be grieving to join us as this is not grief counseling (if you are in need of grief counseling, we can guide you in the right direction for formal grief therapy). This is simply a conversation with others around something we will all experience in our lives and yet avoid speaking about.
All thoughts, struggles, and walks of life are welcome. We are here to understand and support one another. We are not here to “plan for death” or “explain death”, we are here to have an open, nonjudgmental, and confidential conversation with one another around life and death.
Death Cafe is hard to explain, simply feel welcome to come and join the discussion to learn more. We hope you will join us and find comfort in good company. There are also always snacks…a bit of sweetness to lighten the bitter.
Austina Towle and Charlotte Weltzin will facilitate conversation, but we are not in a counseling role. We are here to converse and discover right along with you.
