When there are no words

There are times when there are no words
only a wash of overwhelming feeling
times when it seems the only thing to be done
is to fall on our knees and pray
pray until the tears come
pray until the laughter comes
pray until it is impossible to distinguish sorrow from rejoicing

to sit until something unfolds from the Stillness
we pick ourselves up from the dirt
begin anew and refreshed
and filled with hope
