Dear Members, Friends, Neighbors, and Community,

We know that you have been anxiously awaiting updates for moving forward with the governor’s announcement on Monday that allows Churches to reopen.  We have been in discussion and seeking guidance from our denominations, as well as listening to our hearts.  We have decided to tentatively have a “soft opening” of in person Church Services on June 21st.

This gives us time to see what happens in the Phase One opening of the state, as well as time to plan and prepare for a safe and comfortable opening.  It is likely that you will see significant changes (and requirements) for returning to fellowship worship and we are still sorting out the details.  Please share any input and insight that you have with myself or any Council members regarding reopening.  We will be sending out an email with new protocols before we officially open the Church for services and small meetings.

Facebook Live services will continue and will continue through the opening so that those who are not yet comfortable returning to communal worship will be able to attend services from home.   I will open the recording a few minutes before 9am to allow you time to find the “live” service and settle in before I begin.

We do have to move forward with the Annual Meeting, and have been discussing offering a Zoom Conference for the meeting with some sort of “voting” system in place for those who are unable to attend a Zoom conference.  Please submit any reports you have as soon as possible so that we can begin to build the Annual Report.  Please share with us any thoughts you have as to what method would best meet your needs.

Please consider whether you would be willing to take a seat on Council for the coming year.  Council meets once a month (usually we take July and August off) to discuss and vote on the needs of the Church.  We have been doing some emergency discussions and e-mail votes during Covid.  Your support of the Church is crucial, please consider taking a seat.

We know these are both challenging and frustrating times.  We had hoped to begin opening the Church sooner to give us a calm center, but it seems that we all must continue to be patient.

We will keep you posted as we plan to move forward with opening and plans for Annual Meeting.

Please know that I am here for you.  Don’t hesitate to reach out.

Love & Blessings,

Charlotte
