Part One can be found HERE. How did YOUR hunt go???

I found so many Love Notes during recent Mudlarking adventures. Mudlarking is to seek treasures or, as a friend calls it: “historic garbage”, at a city river’s low tide (did you know that some rivers can have tides, just like the ocean). We found “sea” glass by the river. We found old foundation stones. We found old shards of pottery. We found bones (eek!). We found old ceramic beads. We also picked up some garbage!

We saw the Bird Man (see: The Birdwoman from Mary Poppins). He had brought bags and bags of food to the shore and was feeding all the birds. The swans, the ducks, the geese, and the pigeons. Yes, he was feeding the pigeons too! Pigeons are also hungry and thirsty. Did you know that pigeons cannot survive in the wild? They need us humans to live. That’s why you see them most often in the cities, where there are the most people to help them!
It’s easy to love the gorgeous white dove–they are less common and they are usually well cared for. They make us think of cleanness pure-ness, sweetness, and Holy Spirit. For some reason, people find it a little hard to love and be kind to pigeons. Sadly, some people can be really mean to the pigeons. They are common. They are everywhere. They are often picking through the garbage and sometimes begging us for some snacks! People find them annoying, but if you open your eyes and pay attention…they also have a sweet coo. They are also gentle. And they sparkle in the sunlight!! What if…
What if…?
What if pigeons are doves in disguise? What if…what if pigeons are little angels in disguise? What if they are there to remind us to be kind to those who need help the most…the smallest, the least, the forgotten, and the easily overlooked?
Hmm…what if…?

Love Notes that bring us back to awe and wonder can lead us into beautiful and wonderful directions! They can remind us to be kind and gentle to all creatures and one another.
For our explorers and little scientists: Your “hunt” this week is to continue to keep your eyes open and look for Creation to catch your eye. What little Love Notes is someone is sending your way?
